Nairobi River Life Project
As part of the Nairobi River Life Project, UN-Habitat has entered into a partnership with the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and the Technical University of Kenya (TU-K) to support the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) in developing inclusive and transformational design proposals to connect the city to the river, to revitalize public spaces in the heart of Eastlands and to kick-start the regeneration of the Nairobi River corridor. The projects highlighted herein include the revitalization of Kamukunji and Jacaranda grounds, and Accra Road and City Hall Way.
This interactive platform has been developed to gather public feedback, ideas and thoughts on the proposed designs. Nairobi River Life project is a joint flagship initiative of the Government of Kenya and UN-Habitat aimed at reclaiming Nairobi River for a better urban and environmental performance.
